Senaru is very accessible from all parts of Lombok, especially from big cities like Mataram or the airport. You’ll easily find a taxi driver that will take you to Senaru. Once in Senaru, you will see some signs on the main road, leading you to the waterfalls (and Rinjani ascent point).

Sendang Gile is located in Senaru Village, North Lombok. You just need to follow the road signs and head to a hill where you will find a path that will lead you to Sendang Gile Waterfall.

It’s a two-tiered waterfall with a strong current. There are two main streams in this waterfall, dropping into a lovely pond. You can swim here but need to be careful because the undercurrent can be quite strong.

After Sendang Gile, you can follow the path further to find Tiu Kelep Waterfall. You will trek through dirt trails, several narrow creeks, and slippery stone path. The waterfall is impressive with the unique combination of tiered falls. The main fall directly drops from the main river into the pond. Just below the main river, there is a second tier with vegetation, giving several smaller drops. It is as if the water is dropping from the green shrubs.

This waterfall is located on Baturakit Village, to the west of Senaru. The drop is not that impressive as it looks more like a vertical stream with a strong force. The most impressive part is its pond, with clean water with a blue tinge.

This pond is swimmable, I fact, many local children play in this pond almost every day. If you are brave enough, you can climb the stones at the side of the waterfall and then cliff jumping 12 meters high into the pond.

Panimbungan

There are many names given to this waterfall. Some call it Torean like the name of the place, some call it Panimbungan, locals might call it Mayung Putih, and some other just plainly call it Niagara Torean.

Located in a valley roughly five kilometers from Senaru, this waterfall is visible for climbers who take Torean route. With a 100 meters drop on a granite cliff, you can see rainbows from the right angles at the right time.

Senaru is the most popular ascent point to climb Rinjani. This village is known to be just a stepping stone to get to the magnificent crater of the volcano. However, Senaru is a great destination on its own. It has many lovely waterfalls nearby, all are unspoiled and even the treks are lovely. Exploring the waterfalls here can be a great activity after you conquer Rinjani.
